Primitive Skills Workshops
Trapping has been practically ignored in modern depictions of prehistoric life in America but was of equal importance to food procurement. Using only sticks, string, and deadfall weights like rocks or logs, these techniques were and continue to be integral to the food-gathering capabilities of indigenous people around the world. This class will cover the Paiute deadfall, spring-stick deadfall, scissor trap, snares, and we’ll discuss a few primitive fishing methods. (These trapping methods are taught for education only, and are not legal to take game in Missouri).
